HydraFacial

There’s nothing quite as satisfying as the look and feel of just-cleaned skin that boasts no signs of enlarged or oil-packed pores and a smooth-to-the-touch softness. Of course, facials are one way to get squeaky clean skin, but if you want to leave no pore unturned, consider the ever-popular HydraFacial treatment.

What is a HydraFacial?

A HydraFacial is a noninvasive treatment that combines skin cleaning, extractions, and specialized serums deposited into the skin. The painless treatment is exceptionally effective for exfoliating the skin and simultaneously nourishes and hydrates it.

Unlike a traditional facial, done entirely by hand, the HydraFacial employs a special vacuum machine to exfoliate debris from the pores and dead skin. And unlike other skin-rebooting treatments and facials, the HydraFacial is more like a facial, deep extraction, peel, and microdermabrasion treatment rolled into one. In addition, it’s customizable according to your skin’s needs and types, which makes it beneficial to a wide variety of skin types.

How does HydraFacial work?

A HydraFacial is the only treatment that utilizes a patented technology to cleanse, extract and hydrate the skin for unparalleled results.

During a HydraFacial, the skin is first manually cleansed with a cleanser and water. Then comes the first step, Cleanse + Peel:

A unique vacuum-like handheld device (it attaches to a larger machine) gently glides across the skin’s surface to exfoliate it and suck up dead skin and anything clogging the pores, like dirt, oil, debris, impurities, and dead skin cells.

The HydraFacial works on the uppermost layers of the skin, so there’s no risk of skin damage. It also uncovers a fresh, new layer of the skin via gentle exfoliation and relaxing resurfacing. In addition, the Activ-4™ serum removes dead skin cells to reveal healthy skin, and the GlySal™ mixture of glycolic and salicylic acids delivers the benefits of a peel without post-peel scaling.

The second step is Extract + Hydrate:

The HydraFacial removes debris from within the pores with painless suction and nourishes with intense moisturizers that quench skin. In addition, the patented, automated vortex suction painlessly cleans out pores with the exclusive Beta-HD™ serum, and Antiox+™ serum nourishes and protects with antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid.

Finally comes the third step, Fuse + Protect:

The HydraFacial saturates the skin’s surface with antioxidants and peptides to maximize your glow. Targeted, proprietary skin solutions are delivered to address specific skin concerns.

There’s no need to change out the handpieces during the HydraFacial, making it a completely seamless treatment. Adjustments to the treatment are driven by your aesthetician thru the tip, which offers different levels of exfoliation.

What are the benefits of a HydraFacial treatment?

There are several benefits of a HydraFacial, including skin that looks clear, clean, nourished, and adequately hydrated. It’s also a treatment suitable for many skin types, making it appealing to various ages, skin tones, and skin types. Some of the more noticeable benefits include:

Unlike other skin-refreshing treatments that require downtime, there’s none of that with a HydraFacial. Some people see some minor pinkness on the skin for a few hours after the procedure, but most notice glowing skin.

You’ll see instantly brighter-looking skin that’s refreshed, plump, and well hydrated. Of course, the more treatments you choose to do, the more the skin will improve with time. However, results are visibly noticeable after just one HydraFacial.

How is a HydraFacial different from other facials?

Facials have their place in skin care, but HydraFacial wraps all the benefits of a facial into one using a single device. Plus, it offers seriously hydrated, glowing skin immediately after a single treatment, which not every facial can produce. Also, the HydraFacial uses a unique, patented Vortex-Fusion delivery system to exfoliate, extract and hydrate skin, and its distinctive spiral design delivers pain-free extractions. This special vortex easily removes impurities from the pores and provides serums into the skin.

The HydraFacial is highly customizable, too, and a wide range of different Boosters are infused into the skin during the treatment through the machine’s handpiece. There are Boosters to address a wide variety of common skin issues, and some are produced in conjunction with some of the biggest names in skin care, like ZO Skin Health, Alastin, Colorescience, and Sente.

Who is a HydraFacial for?

Almost any skin type will benefit from a HydraFacial, but those with clogged pores, acne, and dull skin tend to fare best from the treatment and its exceptional results. It’s also an excellent treatment for quickly achieving glow-worthy skin that’s dewy and healthy—you walk out of the treatment room with it. The treatment is also highly effective for:

What does a HydraFacial feel like?

A HydraFacial is relaxing, enjoyable, and not the least painful or uncomfortable. During the 60-minute-plus treatment, you’ll feel the device sucking at your skin—there’s no pulling or tugging involved—to remove the impurities. During the extraction portion of the treatment, there’s no pain or discomfort thanks to a specially designed spiral Vortex-Fusion system.

After, the skin will feel soft, smooth, and highly hydrated, which lasts for days.

How much does a HydraFacial cost?

HydraFacial costs vary depending on where you choose to do it and how many sessions you do. It can run anywhere from $150 to $300 per treatment. Of course, adding additional treatments will drive up the price. To determine the cost of your HydraFacial, book a consultation today.

Common FAQs

The nice thing about HydraFacial is that it works for various skin types and tones, so it’s a one-size-fits-all treatment. Most patients who choose to get a HydraFacial are experiencing wrinkles or fine lines, mild skin discoloration, breakouts, or melasma. Some prefer a HydraFacial simply because they like the deep clean the treatment provides. If you are on Accutane or have severe skin scarring, it is not recommended to get a HydraFacial.

Like other facials and skin treatments, a HydraFacial is recommended monthly. However, a series of HydraFacials will garner the best results, with the most optimal skin changes seen after five to seven treatments.

Taking good care of your skin before and after the treatment is essential. If you are currently using harsh skincare or acid-based or exfoliating products, avoid using them for at least two days before your HydraFacial. You’ll also want to avoid sun exposure in the days following the treatment (and afterward).

Yes, you’re right; the ‘reveal’ is sometimes said to be the most satisfying part of the entire treatment. After your HydraFacial is complete, you’ll be able to see everything extracted from your skin—it gets collected in a clear canister within the device.

Everyone is different, and some people notice long-lasting skin improvement, like improved tone and fewer breakouts, for a few days, while others see the difference extend upwards of one week or longer. Monthly treatments are recommended to maintain the results, especially when treating discoloration, oily and congested skin, breakouts, fine lines, and wrinkles.
